Data Deletion Request
Request deletion of your personal data from Indescape Technologies. We comply with the DPDP Act 2023 and Meta Platform Policies.
How to Delete Your Data
You have two ways to request deletion of your data from Indescape:
Method 1: Delete from within your Indescape account
Log in to app.indescape.com
Go to Settings → Privacy & Compliance
Click "Delete Account" and type DELETE to confirm
Your account, contacts, messages, campaigns, and all associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion within 30 days
Method 2: Send a deletion request by email
If you cannot access your account, send an email to:
privacy@indescape.com
Include the following in your email:
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- Your registered email address or mobile number
- Business name associated with the account
We will verify your identity and confirm deletion within 5 business days. The actual deletion is completed within 30 days of confirmation.
What Data Gets Deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we permanently delete:
- Your account profile, business information, and login credentials
- All customer contacts and their data (phone numbers, names, tags, notes)
- All WhatsApp conversation history and message logs
- All campaign records, flow configurations, and automation histories
- Product catalogue, order records, and invoice data
- All staff accounts associated with your business
- API keys, WABA credentials, and integration configurations
Exception — Billing records: GST-compliant billing records (invoice amounts, GST numbers, payment dates) are retained for 7 years as required under the Indian GST Act and Companies Act. These records do not include WhatsApp message content or customer data.
After deletion, your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) remains active with Meta — we only disconnect it from Indescape. To close your WABA, contact Meta directly through your Meta Business Manager.
Meta Platform — Data Deletion Callback
Indescape integrates with the Meta WhatsApp Business Platform and supports onboarding through Meta's official Embedded Signup and Business verification flows. In compliance with Meta's Platform Policies, we have implemented an automated data deletion callback endpoint.
When Meta sends a data deletion request to Indescape (for example, when a user revokes Indescape's access from their Facebook account), our system:
- Verifies the authenticity of the request using HMAC-SHA256 signature verification with our Meta App Secret
- Identifies the associated Indescape account
- Schedules all personal data linked to that Meta user ID for deletion within 30 days
- Returns a confirmation URL and deletion code to Meta

You can check the status of a Meta-initiated deletion request using the confirmation URL and deletion code provided in Meta's confirmation response.
Data Deletion Timeline
- Day 0: Deletion request received and verified
- Day 1: Account access disabled, data flagged for deletion
- Day 30: All personal data permanently and irreversibly deleted from all systems including backups
- Day 30+: Confirmation email sent to the registered address
Data deletion from backup systems may take up to 90 days for backup rotation cycles to complete. During this period, backup data is not actively processed or accessed.
