Refunds or account credits may be issued for verified technical failures on Indescape's infrastructure that materially prevent use of the core platform.
1. Free Trial
Every new Indescape account includes a 7-day free trial with no credit card required. During the trial period you have full access to all features of your selected plan.
If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged anything. Your account data is retained for 30 days after trial expiry to allow you to reactivate.
2. Subscription Charges
Indescape subscriptions are billed monthly in advance at the start of each billing cycle. Once a billing cycle begins and payment is processed, the subscription charge for that cycle is non-refundable.
This is because:
- The full 7-day trial period gives you time to evaluate the platform before being charged
- Platform access is granted immediately upon payment, meaning the service is consumed from day one
- We incur fixed infrastructure and operational costs regardless of actual usage volume
Note: Meta's per-conversation charges are billed separately based on actual usage. These charges reflect actual usage billed by Meta and are also non-refundable once conversations have been initiated.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel your Indescape subscription at any time from:
Account Settings → Subscription → Cancel Plan
Upon cancellation:
- Your account remains active until the end of the current billing cycle (no partial-month refund)
- Auto-renewal is disabled — you will not be charged for the next cycle
- Your data is retained for 30 days after access expires, giving you time to export
- After 30 days, all your data (contacts, campaigns, flows, messages) is permanently deleted
To reactivate a cancelled account within 30 days, simply log in and add a payment method — your data will still be there.
4. Exceptions — When Refunds May Be Issued
We may issue a refund or account credit in the following exceptional circumstances:
- Service unavailability: If Indescape experiences a verified outage of more than 72 consecutive hours in a billing month due to our infrastructure failure (excluding Meta API outages, Razorpay outages, or internet service provider issues), we may issue a pro-rated credit for the affected period.
- Duplicate charge: If you are charged twice for the same billing period due to a Razorpay processing error, we will refund the duplicate charge promptly upon verification.
- Unauthorised charge: If you can demonstrate that a charge was made without your authorisation and you contact us within 7 days of the charge, we will investigate and refund if confirmed.
To request an exception-based refund, email billing@indescape.com with your account email, the charge date, and a description of the issue. We will respond within 5 business days.
5. Meta API Charges
WhatsApp per-conversation charges from Meta are billed to you at zero markup — exactly what Meta charges. These charges are:
- Determined entirely by Meta, not by Indescape
- Non-refundable by Indescape once conversations have been initiated
- Subject to Meta's own billing and refund policies
Disputes about Meta's charges should be raised directly with Meta through your Meta Business Manager account.
6. Downgrades
If you downgrade from a higher plan to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. You will be charged the lower plan rate from the next cycle. No credit is issued for the remaining days of the current cycle at the higher rate.
7. GST on Refunds
If a refund is issued, the GST component will also be refunded. A credit note will be issued for accounting purposes. Allow up to 10 business days for the refund to reflect in your payment account, subject to Razorpay processing times.
